The Sears Wish Book. This was
one piece of literature that every kid did not mind going
through. This thing had everything you could imagine. GI
Joe, Tinker Toys, Big Wheels, Barbies, and Poodle Radios. I
remember spending hours going through the catalog.
When it came to toys, the Sears
Wish Book was the ultimate authority. I have scanned some
pages of a 1976 Wish Book. The pages are sorted by gender and
there are even some things for the family..
This catalog is a Canadian
catalog. I bought it on Ebay but did not realize it was
Canadian until I received it. I knew something was different
about this catalog (from the one I received as a kid in Houston,
Texas) when I saw the ice skates, hockey gear, and giant down
parkas.
The prices had me a bit baffled,
so I checked the exchange rate and was surprised to see that in 1976
the Canadian to US dollar exchange rates were nearly at par with one
another.

This indicates that there is audio from past TV commercials that go
